norocel-laszlo This song reminds of a good friend of mine. Beautiful instrumental song. Favorite track: Meeting Simon At The Airport.

Lute FP This album is killer. Makes me think of a local college band channeling classic Cream, with a killer delta-blues informed guitar leading the way. A fun, bouncy feel to their rhythms with a hint of blues to the songwriting. Clever, often humorous lyrics, overall a fantastic sound.

Their earlier catalog shows this to be a progression into more mature songwriting, and I look forward to their next release.

Glenn Fiddich This instrumental song brought my thoughts back in Cuba. A little personal nostalgia maybe. Really like the whole album actually. Favorite track: Meeting Simon At The Airport.

about

London based trio The Wave Pictures - Jonny Helm (drums), Dave Tattersall (guitar & vocals) and Franic Rozycki (bass) - return with their brand new album Bamboo Diner in The Rain due out on Moshi Moshi on 11 November.

Following on from last year’s Billy Childish collaboration Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon and their recent acoustic record A Season in Hull, Bamboo Diner in the Rain sees The Wave Pictures battling against the robot music apocalypse. The new album is a bluesy, boozy love letter to the guitar, filled with American Primitive instrumentals, John Lee Hooker chugs and Link Wray style minor-key surf music. As songwriter and guitarist Dave Tattersall explains; “This album is set in the Bamboo Diner of my dreams, with rain beating on the windows and a jukebox stocked with blues.”

Limited edition vinyl comes with a download code and all pre-orders (CD, limited edition vinyl & digital) come with an instant download of 'The Running Man'.
